The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Atonement at a Glance

Who we are

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Atonement believes that our strength lies in Jesus Christ and His Word;  we respond in Faith and Action, so that we become doers of the Word and are not hearers alone.
Theresa of Avila said that in this world, Jesus has no hands but our hands.
Back in 1941, our Church community realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why it was decided to found The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Atonement.

What We Do

Making A Difference

The most important goal of our organization is to proclaim Jesus Christ and the Gospel. We seek to support, empower, and provide high quality resources to our community in a safe and secure environment. Our success isn’t measured in terms of wealth or profit margin, but by the value we provide to those we serve.

Foodbank

Reinforcing our Commitment

Our Foodbank is open every first Thursday of the month, from 8am-9am; please come early, as our supplies are limited.  The line starts on 31 Avenue, and the food is distributed at the parking lot.  Please bring your own totes and carts, since items are heavy!

Worship Services

Experience the Grace of God

Our Worship service is on Sundays at 10:15 am.  There are special services on Christmas Eve at 7:30 pm, Good Friday Tenebrae at 7:30 pm, and Easter at 8:00 am and 10:15 am.

Face masks and social distancing are required, the building is well ventilated and singing and chanting by ministers only.  There is a lot of additional organ music to make the service very enjoyable.

Atonement Pre-School

Helping The Community

  • Our UPK is free since the year 2000.  The hours are from 8:15 am to 2:45 pm.  It is your choice of either in person or 100% remote classes.  With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in need of learning. With access to the right resources, four year-olds can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. Learn more about our work by getting in touch with our dedicated team today.

  • Please bring the child's birth certificate, 2 proofs of address, and the yellow card with the immunizations.
